Sugar Rush

Sugar Rush is a performance project that through the medium of movement and music aims to invoke the unbearable sweetness of a shared community - a memory of a paradise that never really existed and yet it is forever lost. Igor Dobričić

This project first and foremost refers to a personal and nostalgic memory of the former Yugoslavia, which was subjected to a violent erasure from the map of Europe at the end of the 20th Century. This perception of the time in question has nothing to do with the former political or economic state arrangement, but reaches back to the period of childhood – it plays with spontaneity, joy, and a carefree spirit, while constantly luring the audience into identifying with what has been forever lost.
